Hair talk.

We all want to look perfect on our wedding day, there's no doubt about that. So what happens when your idea of perfection is different from what you fiance thinks?

I recently asked Mr. PF how he thinks I should wear my hair for the wedding and he said he wants me to wear it down. Now, I figured he would say that because I rarely fix my hair and make it look pretty. Having hair all over my face is not conducive to working with kids, y'all.

I always figured I would wear my hair up since we will be at the beach and it will probably be somewhat humid. I just want it out of my face and off my neck while I'm dancing the night away. But I do love the way brides look with their hair down. It looks so dreamy and beautiful and I wish so badly that I could pull that look off.

I just think that the wind and the humidity will be too much for my little ol' hair to stand it. So I told Mr. PF that it just wouldn't be possible for me to wear my hair down. I think it took him about 5 seconds to get over it. Here are some of my favorite up-dos.

I am waiting for my veil to arrive so I can go do my hair trial. Yes, I am doing a hair trial here even though whoever does it wont be anywhere near me on my wedding day. I told you I was crazy.

How are you going to wear your hair on your wedding day? Does you fiance have a certain way he likes for you to wear your hair? Did you wear it that way?

Pre-nup Hiccup

Bees, this is something that I had never put two seconds of thought into, and never thought I would have to. My mom came to me last night and talked to me about the idea of signing a pre-nup with Mr.PF. Her reasoning is totally rational and I totally get it. My parents own a lot of property and rental buildings and they want to make sure that if anything were to happen between Mr. PF and I, my assets would be protected.

I have always been one of those people who would say "Why even get married if you are signing a piece of paper for when it all goes wrong?"And now, I am stuck in a situation where I am faced with this question myself. So after talking with Mom about it, I may have told her I would talk to Mr. PF about it soon.

(Source)
That's right. Ruh roh.

How do I ask Mr. PF to sign something that states who will get what if something goes wrong between us? I honestly don't know how he is going to take this suggestion. I don't know if he will get offended or upset, or maybe he won't care at all! In my heart of hearts, I am marrying Mr. PF because I love him and I would hope that we would be together forever. In the real world, I know things can go wrong.

So bees, I am coming to you with the hopes that someone can give me some awesome advice as to how I should handle this situation. Have you ever had to deal with talking about a pre-nup? How did you handle it?

Have you ever been Rick Rolled?

Y'all are probably going to laugh, or judge me but that goes with the territory when 'your song' is "Never gonna give you up" by Rick Astley. Yep, Mr. PF and I's song is that awesome 80's number that is often made fun of, and I'm proud of it!

Let me tell you the story behind it. Our very first Valentine's Day together, Mr. PF and I were driving to dinner and the song came on the radio and he said "This is how I feel about you". From that moment on, it became our song. So far he has lived up to his statement :).

So, I have a little surprise for Mr. PF.

Meet his wedding ring. See what I have inscribed there on the inside? Yep! It says "Never Gonna Give You Up".

He is gonna absolutely love it! Also, here is the song in case you were wondering.

Did you have anything engraved on your FI ring? Or did you have any surprises for them that you knew they would love?

'Twas the night before Valentines Day...

I realized that I don't have a post about how Mr. PF popped the question. Its only fair to give the guy some credit since he spent so much time orchestrating the whole ordeal.

It was Valentine's day eve and I was getting ready to go out to a romantic Valentines day dinner (or so I thought) Mr. PF told me to be ready by 6 because we had reservations at 6:45. He knows me well enough to give me a buffer time to get ready.

I didn't really have any suspicions that something fishy was going on because when we had the marriage talk and Mr. PF told me it would be at least a year so he could save up for a ring. So, I just figured it would be a nice, relaxing evening with the possibility of some ice cream at the end of the night. (Calories don't count on holidays, remember?)

After I got ready, Mr. PF told me that I had to be blindfolded. I happily obliged but I was secretly thinking... Ummm...Did I seriously just spend an hour getting ready and now your gonna mess it up with a blindfold??? Anyway, after I put on the blindfold, I started to think something might be going on.

Ok...lets get to the good stuff since I dont really know what happened while I was blindfolded :D

Here's how it went down.

"What are you doing here?"

Well, this is weird.

Can I have this dance?..."I guess...This is kinda awkward, but ok"

"Miss Petit Four, I love you more than anything in the world. Will you spend the rest of your life with me?"

OMG...are you cereal, fruitloop? (I didn't really say that heh)

Yes!!!!!

Someone even got it on video!

I was shaking for about an hour after it happened.

Cheeeeeese.

Of course there was cake, so MOH Petit Four and I decided it was time to feed each other.

The end...Actually, the beginning :)

How did your fiance pop the question? Was it intimate and personal, or a big affair for everyone to share?

Midnight Snack Attack

If yall haven't figured it out yet, FI and I are total foodies. We love tasting new food, eating food and making food too! So, its no surprise that food is a huge part of our wedding. We had to make sure to find a venue that had amazing dishes that not only looked pretty, but tasted great. It just so happens that the cook at the venue we picked was the winner of one of the Iron Chef competitions. (Yummmmmmm)

Now, I already talked about what we will be eating for dinner, so you must be wondering...What else could she possible have to say about food?

Well, we want to do a midnight snack attack for all our guests and offer them some more delicious stuff to eat while dancing the night away.

Not to be confused with a Zack Attack.

I know after a couple of drinks, the last thing I want is something sweet, but I cant get over the idea of having a s'mores station.

(Source)
Seriously y'all, how amazing does this look?????

I thought about it some more and realized that our guests probably aren't going to want sweets after getting 2 desserts and possibly wedding cake. *Sigh* Moving on...

The next idea we had was a nacho bar. Nachos are just awesome because you can scarf them. Don't act like yall have never scarfed down some nachos.

Exactly. Sorry MOH PF (hehe)

(Source)
No, your eyes are not playing tricks on you. That is cheese coming out of that fountain.

Next up... A mini hot dog bar! These things are so freakin cute!!! I could do without the black things on the bun though :D I talked to my venue and they said they couldn't do mini hotdogs. Damn. Foiled again.(Source)

Ok y'all, this is my favorite idea so far and I totally understand if you want to steal it because its going to be so amozing! (Remember Frank from Father of the Bride?)

Oh, yeah baby! I can't think of any food I would rather eat while I'm getting my drink and dance on! I'm hoping we will be able to have individual servings of fries and then people can go over to the station and put chili or cheese or ketchup or...whatever!

Are you having a late night snack attack? What are some of your favorite midnight snacks?

We've got a cryer!!!!!

Yes, its true. I cry. A lot. If something really special is going on?...cry. Something really sad?....cry. Something really happy?....cry.
Just the other day, I cried during a Folgers Coffee commercial. Redic.

Here's my...um, special (?) cry face after our engagement.

Again.

That's me there on the top at during MOH Petit Four's wedding. I may look like I'm smiling, but I am trying to hold back tears.

Giving the maid of honor speech. Crying.

I cried for ohhh....about 75% of the day. Yeah, that sounds right.

After coming to this realization, I started thinking about how I am gonna make it through my wedding day. I have heard that pressing your tongue to the roof or your mouth helps, or thinking of dead kittens...or something like that (hmmm....that might make me cry more), but I'm not convinced any of this is going to work for me.

How are you going to get through your wedding day? Do you have any special tricks? Or maybe you are a normal person who doesn't cry during coffee commercials. Spill it ladies!!! I need your help!

Bridemaids dresses? Check!

I have written a couple of times about bridesmaids dresses and different options I have considered. I started off wanting to just let my girls pick out their own dresses. I often dreamed of us frolicking in the white, powdery sand in gorgeously mismatched dresses.

Like these...

(Source)

After a little deliberation, we decided it would just be easier if I went ahead and picked out a dress. The girls were too worried about buying the right dress and they wanted me to be happy. Awww, aren't they sweet??? So I set out to find the perfect dresses for my girls.

I found these...

(Source)

The only problem with these? $310. I just couldn't bring myself to swallow that, so I kept looking and found something equally amazing...

(Source)

These dresses are Gypsy 05 and they are perfect for the beach. Wanna know the best part about it? I got them on Hautelook for $100 each! If you haven't heard of Hautelook, you should sign up immediately. It's seriously so awesome...but addicting.

My maid of honor will be wearing peach and the bridesmaids will be wearing lilac. (like the picture)

What websites are you using to get deals for your wedding?

Big Packages.

(Source)
Not that kind, silly.

This kind...

Oh! Well, hello there! What could be in this carefully packed box, you ask????

My sand dollars!!!!!!!

I am using these little beauties for my sand dollar place cards like these...

(Source)

Here is my first shot at it. I bought a pen that has a thin point and a thicker point so I decided to try both of them out.(Thick point)

(Thin point)

I am thinking that I like the thin point for the table number and the thick point for the name. I am also trying to decide if I should write "Mr." or "Mrs." on the sand dollar. Knowing myself so well, I ordered like, 10 extra sand dollars to experiment with. It also gives me a chance to work on my penmanship. ;D

I ordered these sand dollars from qualityshells.com and they are perfect!! They are 3 inches and just the right size for writing names and table numbers on them. They packaged them very carefully, which I took notes on since we will have to take them to Mexico with us!

What do your place cards look like? Are you going with standard paper or are you trying something a little more fun?

Supermodels for a day.

Photo shoots can be really nerve wracking and awkward if you aren't professional models like us... Ha, just kidding, but our photographer did an amazing job and making us look really good!

I don't remember how I found Jordan, but I am so happy that I did. Her pictures have that dreamy look that you see on Stylemepretty and she was within our budget.

All Images courtesy of Jordan Palmer Photography
She was running a special for engagement shoots, so Mr. PF and I decided to go for it! When we took these pics we were about a year out from the wedding. I didn't mind. A deal is a deal!

Nervous first picture

{Awwwwkwarrrrrd}

Getting the hang of it

Thanks, honey.

We took lots of props like cream soda (my fave), cupcakes, balloons and a hat, but the best pictures came from when we found a water fountain to run through.

Jordan won't be capturing our wedding, we booked a photographer on the island for that. Although I am really happy that we got some awesome engagement pictures that we can keep forever.

How did you find your photographer? Did you do a bunch of research or did they just happen to fall in your lap?
